Senior Networking Consultant

Compensation: Up to $100,000 base salary plus bonuses and benefits

Location: All major USA cities - work from your home office

As an nDivision Senior Networking Consultant, you will be a champion for networking solutions with a strong understanding of architecture, configuration and deployment. In addition, you will be an effective pre-sales resource and will be expected to lead pre-sales work on various opportunities for nDivision customers. Therefore this role suits someone who is ambitious and creative.

From a solutions perspective, your focus will be to architect, configure and deploy mission critical SMB and Large Enterprise networking solutions that may also require an understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, IP, VPNs, DHCP, DNS, SSL, PKI, network routing, firewalls and wireless networking. You will employ management, technical and planning skills by participating in projects. You will improve your abilities to think creatively, design solutions, and interact with customers. You will contribute to our repository of intellectual property and best practices as we employ networking methodologies to create robust and scalable data center environments for our customers.

Key requirements include:

Elicit, document and analyze system requirements
Network topology planning and consulting – Network assessment
Design and implement virtual network infrastructures and architectures
Implement routing and firewall solutions
Implement and configure wireless networks and related hardware
Documentation of installation and configuration information

In addition, you will:

attend pre-sales meetings - architect and present networking solutions to nDivision customers
develop technical specifications and statements of work based on functional requirements
be the lead consultant in the development of the overall technical solution
install, configure, trouble shoot and support technical solutions as designed in a lab or production environment
contribute to managing the financial aspects of the project by providing accurate reporting and ensuring that the team works within the agreed financial guidelines
develop and maintain effective customer and user relationships
input to hiring decisions, based on nDivision’s hiring procedures
take responsibility for managing the careers of junior nDivision team members where appropriate

Vendor Experience

Brocade and Dell branded Power Connect B product
Cisco - 7200, 6500, 7600, 2900, 4500, PIX or FWSX
Force10 - S-Series and E-Series
Juniper - M or T Series and NetScreen Firewalls.as well as Dell branded J series product
Load Balancers - Citrix / NetScaler, or F5 Big IP
Aruba Wireless
Cisco Wireless

Layer 2 Experience

Spanning-Tree, including 802.1d and 802.1w
Trunking (Ether-channel)
802.1q vlan tagging
Strong troubleshooting skills and effective troubleshooting methods
MPLS Experience a plus

Layer 3 Experience

OSPF Routing including route redistribution
Load balancing traffic and engineering for automatic failover
Multiple methods for equal-cost load balancing
Isolation of routing policies between multiple datacenters including community attribute schemes
Route reflectors
Flow analysis experience a plus

Architecture and Design

Routing policy for auto-failover, transit policy segregation
National Backbone architecture or design
Understanding of peering policies vs. transit policies
Understanding the current state of the Internet's network major players and quality between vendors
Visio design/diagramming skills

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

5 or more years of direct industry experience
5 or more years of experience in a customer service environment
Preferred certifications: CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, CCDE, or equivalent Force 10 or Juniper Certifications
Preferred education: BS in Computer Science, IT or similar and/or related experience
Expert working knowledge of networking, security and firewall implementations.
Proficient in MS Office
Strong working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
Extensive working experience with open-source software and tools, including scripting/automation of repeated tasks, extremely comfortable in a command-line environment
Strong project management skills, prioritization of projects, and time management skills
Communicate effectively with business units across the company
Communicate effectively both written and verbally
Demonstrate conflict management, team work, customer focus, continuous learning, quality output, adherence to internal policies as well as processes and procedures and overall integrity
Commitment to assigned tasks, planning/prioritizing/goal setting, decision making and advanced problem solving
