As an nD Senior Cloud Services Engineer, you’ll be part of our Cloud Services division working alongside other engineers and consultants to co-ordinate with the various nD teams to deliver support to your assigned customer base.  The Senior Cloud Services Engineer will also have responsibility for supporting a combination of Private Cloud (remote and datacenter Managed Services) and Custom Cloud (nD’s hosted solutions) and will be required to be technically hands on to resolve escalations or complete complex deployments.


Key Responsibilities of a Senior Cloud Services Engineer role include:

Working alongside other Cloud Services Engineers to drive positive customer experiences and satisfaction results

Understanding customers’ technical requirements for performance and uptime and ensuring the customers’ Infrastructure supports these

Participating in an on-call rotation for Level 2 escalation and remediation

Travel for up to 20% of the time

Supporting sales teams on the technical design of new projects or infrastructure upgrades using nD and industry best practices

Overseeing Infrastructure deployments for new projects within existing customers

Documenting solution run books to support Level 1 and Level 2 remediation

Owning and completing complex technical tasks within the Infrastructure

Performing reviews of the Cloud Services performance and pro-actively making recommendations on how to improve efficiency or lower financial expenditure

Attending and contributing to regular Service Review Meetings with customers

Mentoring and supporting junior engineers


Job Requirements

Have a passion for technology within the Cloud Services industry and for working alongside customers

Demonstrate previous experience as a Senior Support Engineer in a Cloud Services or large customer environment

Show the ability to work in a fast paced, mission critical environment which may at times be stressful


Technical Requirements

You will have Subject Matter Expert deployment, management and certifications, in at least three of the following areas:

Microsoft Windows Server Operating System

Microsoft SCCM, SCOM, SCVMM and SCSM

VMware vSphere, View, Site Recovery Manager, Capacity Planner, vCloud

Microsoft Hyper-V, VDI, Application Virtualization and Terminal Services

Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp, and XenServer

Storage, (NAS, SAN, Fiber Channel, iSCSI), Dell, EMC, NetApp, HP and IBM

Networking, IP, VPNs, DHCP, DNS, SSL, PKI, network routing, firewalls and switching. Layer 2 and Layer 3. Firewall & Load Balancer devices such as Cisco, Juniper, F5 and Brocade

Microsoft SQL Server RDBMS installation/configuration, patching, troubleshooting, performance tracking/tuning, back-up/recovery and remote monitoring

Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange, including High Availability and Clusters

Microsoft Lync and associated voice and data platforms

CommVault backup & recovery, snapshots, de-duplication, replication, archiving, analytics and tiering

UNIX, Linux, Red Hat, Solaris, AIX, and Oracle Linux

Microsoft Forefront Security Suite, Cisco ASA, Checkpoint and compliance for PCI-DSS

Microsoft SharePoint implementations, migrations from previous SharePoint versions, and development of custom solutions using SharePoint platform

ITIL operations, service desk, incident management, change management and compliance
